You start to doubt the real worth of a nation, when it's people pay more heed to the death of an aged actor than to the sacrifice of a young life, married a month ago.
You start to doubt this profession, and all the sacrifices that it makes in order to protect the lives of millions, who are unaware about it.
You start to question yourself that do these people really deserve the service and security that you provide?
And all these doubts and questions makes you sceptical about the work you do and you start questioning yourself if it is all worth for an ungrateful nation.
When in 8th I read a beautiful essay "Main aur Mera Desh" in my textbook, which talked about not speaking ill about your country and how it devalues the nation and I had followed it until this day. But what do you do when that nation devalues the life of a martyr?
Some of you might say I am free to quit from this service. But I don't need a change of job. I need a change of perspective, either in mine or in the people I serve for.
